Hi there,
does any one know if you can do residency after your MD/PhD so that you can practice medicine, rather than sticking to research. If yes, then do MD/PhDs have any advantages, i mean can they go straight to a subspeciality, for example cardiology, rather than doing three years in Internal medicine first and then three more years of residency in cardiology to become a speacilist.
 
Sure, they can and often do. However, you aren't going to get any breaks in the time required for residency to become the specialist.
