We need details.
Program type? (Internal Medicine, Surgery, etc).
US resident?
When did you graduate, and from where?
Are you a senior or did you take time off?

To my knowledge there is no central data base of "out of match" positions. Almost all of the out of match positions are in IM, FM and peds. I know this because I've compared the ACGME's table of "pipeline residency positions filled" with NRMP's match tables.

To come up with a table you'd have to compare the ACGME's enumeration of authorized positions with the offered positions for each program in the NRMPs match outcomes. What a pain.🙁

If I were you I'd look at all of the FM, IM and Peds programs in New York City. I believe that is where you'd find the out of match spots.

Don't forget that after 2012 if a program wants to participate in the match, it has to be "all in".

Agree with Humble that we can't answer you without more details. I'm going to assume that you're an IMG and won't have your ECFMG certification ducks all in a row in time for the Match. If that's the case then you can't do any pre-matching (which is what ObnoxiousDad is talking about) and as such you're looking for programs that just don't participate in the Match at all. There are virtually none of those programs anymore.

Your best hope is to get everything lined up and be ready to snag something in the Scramble although if you can't register for the Match at all, you won't be able to be in the scramble either.

Actually, not being ECFMG certified does not prevent you from prematching. Obviously you need ECFMG certification before you actually start.

Yeah...I wasn't very clear here. I meant that somebody who is unable to qualify for the Match (for whatever reason) is unlikely to find themselves a pre-match spot.

But the more I get sucked into this thread, the more I realize that the OP needs to be less vague or this is all just mental masturbation. For all we know, the OP is a junior pre-med UG who just wants to skip over all that silly med school crap and just be a doctor already.

Mental Masturbation ... You would make a helluva attending Gutonc! lol
