Residents not receiving a stipend. . .

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'd strongly bet that those programs that traditionally don't have a stipend(i.e. ortho, some perio, and if I remember correctly a couple of endos and a pedo here and there), won't. Plain and simply, there too much demand for those residency positions for them to need to change the current. There will be continued stipends though for GPR's, AEGD's and OMFS residencies, so that when you figure out what you make per hour, we'll don't think about that, but you will make back the difference over time.

BTW, as I'm typing to this I'm listening to the live NASA broadcast of the Mars rover landing, now thats some really cool, wild stuff:wow:

Can you imagine if an astronaut on a Mars mission gets a toothache in mid-trip...

200 years from now I wonder if there will be any "space dentists"-- Dentists who work in zero-g conditions on long-endurance space missions. 😀

Sorry for the musing. 😛 Back to the original topic..

Oh, I'd guess that NASA would probably do full mouth extractions followed by implant supported full upper and lower fixed bridges prior to the astronauts mission :wow: :meanie: ...........Not!
