Response Deadline Question?

So I have gotten accepted to Creighton and I have til December 31st to respond. However, I still have 5 other schools I am waiting to hear back from and I am guessing I wont hear back until after Jan 1. Should I just pay the deposit fee and see what happens? Or should I call Creighton and see if I can get an extension? Or should I call the 5 other schools and see what the deal is? Thanks Guys.

Whats the price of the Creighton deposit? What's the price difference between Creighton and the other schools you are waiting for? If you get accepted to those other schools will you them over Creighton? Maybe the price difference is worth putting your deposit down at Creighton to see what happens.

IMO, saving on a deposit isn't worth gambling your future. Just put money down, sit back, wait, and let the magic happen--you'll be going to dental school.

Yeah that is most likely what I will do. The deposit is $500. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. Im waiting to hear back from NYU which is very expensive but Im also waiting to hear back from Nebraska which is a lot cheaper than Creighton so we will see. Thanks for the input

An extension is probably not likely (but I suppose you could ask? I personally wouldn't). You could call the other schools and see if you can get an update, since you really have nothing to lose. I would put down the Creighton deposit, if I were in your shoes!

I know it sucks because the deposits are non-refundable, but you need to put down the deposit. Calling the other schools for updates wouldn't be bad idea, but with the holidays coming up, it probably won't get you an answer before the 31st.
