Wow. I should be really upset with myself, but I think I might be too tired for any emotion. I started the exam at 8:15 pm....probably not the brightest idea, but those are my scores. I am supposed to take the DAT this Thursday, August 4th.

Here's my dilemma: Last summer I registered to take it...I chickened out at the last second, and decided to wait another year. Well...if I don't take it this Thursday, then I will just have to forfeit the money I paid last year...and now I will have to cough up $320 so I can reschedule to take the DAT in 2 weeks.
Okay, so right now I am beginning to feel emotion...I'm pretty bummed. Idk what to do. Please give me some advice 🙁

I remember you mentioning that you started CDP yesterday and haven't started Destroyer yet. It doesn't appear that you're ready as confirmed by the 2009 exam. It seems like what's holding you back from rescheduling is the $320 fee.

Alright bro, let's break it down with scenarios and likelihood...

A: You do well and score a 20 or better. You save $320 from rescheduling. Likelihood of happening: slim

B: You score around 17-18. You figure you're going to have to retake it and spend the $320 anyway, not to mention waiting 3 months and being late in the app cycle. Likelihood: probable

C: You completely bomb it and score 16 or below. Same outcome as in B. Likelihood: somewhere between slim and probable.

D: You reschedule it for later this month. It costs you $320. You get prepared well and score 20 or better. You're still early enough in the app cycle and feel good about your chances. Likelihood: probable

I would go with D. If my assessment is correct, then you will have to dish out the money anyway. So just think of it as a prep course fee that will earn you a 20+ score.

I'm bumping this because I got an email this morning from someone who had identical scores with me on the 2009 ADA test.
She told me on the real DAT the bio, orgo, and math was easier than the 2009 ADA. She ended up scoring 20TS and 20AA.
Does anyone else think the actual DAT was easier than 2009 ADA?
Also...if I were to reschedule to take my test in 2 weeks from now...would it really increase my scores if I went through Destroyer sciences???

while I don't have the paid 2009 sample from the questions that people post looking for clarification it can be hit or miss. Again limited sample so I don't know every question. Plus there are errors, so I dunno if you compensated for those. I remember ochem questions that states 7 carbons but none of the answer choices had 7.

I can only speak for my test, but felt mine to be easy in that I didn't obscure questions like I did last year. But you can read from the forums the questions are random in nature they'll throw you stuff didn't see coming.

while I did get some very basic/straight forwards questions a lot questions were application based. I don't know how many shows up on the sample exam.

To answer the bold, all the breakdowns seem to suggest that yes.. Going through Destroyer will increase your scores.

I'm wondering though why you didn't study with destroyer and CDP when you already bought it and were studying for about a year?

Good luck on your decision man, rock the dat either way

You may not realize but there are many different versions of the DAT out there. Some are easier than the 2009 ADA exam. Some are harder. You can't rely solely on what anyone says to compare their real exam to a practice because of the different versions you could get. You may get lucky and get an easy version or you may not and you will regret taking the exam. My best advice is to take the exam when you are ready. Postponing to go through destroyer is a great idea because it can only improve your scores. Everyone who does destroyer does relatively well. I am not saying it is absolutely necessary to do it, but it will absolutely raise your score. If you have 2 weeks, break it up and do the book twice through and make notes of mistakes. (Taking 4 days to do it once and 4 days to do it again perhaps). $320 bucks is a small price to pay to ensure you are prepared for the most important exam of your life rather than risking going in there and getting destroyed.
Also...your PAT needs work and taking this extra time to get more practice at it will be extremely beneficial. More time will not hurt you. Think of the money as an investment into your future.
