Apologies if there is a more appropriate sub-forum for this thread. (If there is one, I couldn't find it).

I was wondering if it would be tacky to leave hyperlinks in the main body of update letters. I am considering sending three links to provide evidence for my post-interview activities:

1) first-author publication currently "in press"
2) art competition winner announcement
3) student-run college webpage that discusses a school-wide bazaar that I helped organized with faculty

Also, would greater than 1.5 pages be too long for an update+interest letter? I wouldn't want to annoy adcoms with unnecessary fluff, but I would like to discuss how I feel my interests and passions would make me a good fit for particular schools.

Thanks in advance for the input.

are youproviding updates or trying to reargue your original application? you should have already shown why your interests and passions makes you a good fit.

the only thing worth mentioning is the first author pub and perhaps the art winner if it is substantial, wide spread or somehow important. Your update is at least twice as long as it should be. three paragraphs is sufficient for update; the rest is a rehash of stuff you already presented

Thank you, gonnif!
