I took the dat in the summer of my sophmore year, got a 19/18. Would anyone recommend me to take it again to try to get to the 20's? I've asked the deans at the texas schools (i'm from texas), and they dont think I need to... just wondering if i wanna apply out of state, do i need a higher score than that? (my current cumulative gpa is 3.89 in neurobiology) any input appreciated.

You are in good shoes! Just maintain your GPA and you will definitely get in somewhere if you do wish to apply out of Texas! Apply early, September at the latest!
