I wanted to hear what your thoughts were on this..

I already took DAT three times
got 20 AAfirst
21 AAsecond
19 AAthird

since my GPA in undergrad wasn't as great, I needed a stronger DAT score but somehow the scores kept falling!! (I studied so hard for it too)
my gpa in undergrad is 2.7 accum/3.2 sci

I am one semester away from getting a masters degree in biology and my GPA in grad is ~3.7. So hopefully this GPA will make up for my undergrad and score of 19 will be able to get me in somewhere.

I know that I could take DAT one more time with the rejection letter from the dental school but i've heard that the dental school don't like to see DATs taken more than three times. Is that true?

Can anyone help me with this?

thanks

the fact your AA kept falling isn't a good trend, should've been the other way. I think u can take it a 4th time u just have to show them proof that you are applying/getting rejected from DS or something a long those lines. Call them up, you might as well submit your application. Maybe your 3.7 can help offset the 2.7.

Has anyone taken DAT four times and got into any dental school?

Are you planning on applying now (since you have a semester of a grad GPA) or are you going to wait until June 2010 to apply, once you have finished your program? If you are applying now, I would just concentrate on keeping your GPA up for now for the next semester and see how many interviews you get. If you do not get accepted anywhere this cycle or do not receive any interview invites, I would suggest you then study for like the spring semester for the DAT. I don't personally know anybody that has taken it 4 times, but you want to make sure you study adequately and effectively for your 4th time. You don't want to rush it and not improve any, otherwise it would just become more difficult for you.

don't you have to petition for a fourth? I think you probably need a better excuse than, "I didn't like my first 3 similar scores.". If you don't know why your scores are hovering in the same region, it's probably because you've hit your potential on the DAT. I would just apply as is.

I would've stopped at 21AA...why did you retake again after getting a 21 on AA?

i studied hardcore and everything was going well for the third exam
but i just got so nervous and things didnt really work out on the exam day

I took it one more time after getting 21AA because my top choice required a high DAT score

thanks for the comments

retaking after a 21 AA is ludicrous
