Retake in December

Upon studying my A** off, my brain failed me miserably during my recent DAT.

I know that I have to retake in December but will that kill my chances for this year? ALL of my stuff has been in since July so all of the schools are just waiting for my scores.

Did any of you take it in December or know of anyone in a similar situation?

Somebody I know from last year didnt even submit his app. to AADSAS until october. His stat wasnt exactly stellar either: cGPA 3.5, sGPA 3.2 with 18/18. He applied to 20+, ended up waitlisted for 1 school and got accepted in July, so theres def. hope.

Another question... how do I go about notifying the schools of a planned retake?

Quickest would be emailing the admissions offices. I think there is a supplemental info link through AADSAS that should provide email addresses. Keep in mind that your DAT scores will take 2-3 weeks post exam date to get sent out. Be sure to let the schools know.

Hi, I will retake my DAT in Nov, I called some schools, they said they will not wait because Nov will be too late. While other schools said they will put you as an incomplete applicant. So good luck to all of us who are on the same boat. Don't give up!!😉

I called UoP today and they said that if I was to retake in December I would be looked at but probably only to be waitlisted.

I guess that is better than nothing.

My AADSAS application says the mail date was 12/23/97 and I got in to UCLA in March, but was flat-out rejected by 7 others. GPA 3.4, sGPA 3.3, 24AA, 21 PAT/QR/Bio, 27 OChem, 28 GChem. If I recall correctly, the class average had 3.6 GPA and 21s across the board. So if you think the DAT score will improve significantly, I'd take it. Good luck!

Sorry my bad. I didn't notice "dentist". I thought you meant to write 06 or something. Thanks for the advice! I am definately going to kill it in December and hope for the best.
