I got a B in intro Bio first semester of freshman year (got an A second semester). After transferring to a new school my advisor advised me to retake Intro Bio again for an A to increase my chances for med school. Is it worth retaking Bio for med school? Thanks guys. I appreciate any feedback!

If your GPA is good, you should be fine. It would be a different story if you had failed the course.

The only strong-enough reason to re-take it would be if the new school to where you transferred refused to give you credit for that bio class you took somewhere else.

Rule number 1: most advisors suck and you shouldn’t listen to them.

I think it would depend on the type of institution you received your credits from, and whether the medical schools you're interested in will take the credit. You might also want to contact the bio instructor for your new institution to make sure that you're not missing anything important for future classes. If nothing else, don't stress too much about it and don't retake it. Giving the benefit of the doubt, your advisor may be trying to say that a knowledge of biology will be important for exams like MCAT and for future classes, so brushing up on bio wouldn't be a bad idea; you could do this in your own spare time rather than retaking.
