I got a C in my Bio II, do you guys think that it is best for me to re-take the class again to upgrade my grade or should i just leave it and take other science classes (such as, Physiology, Anatomy,.. etc.) to upgrade my GPA?

thanks!

It might be easier to re-take since you know what will be covered. If you have time to take other sciences, you should take them too.

If you think you can do well in the upper level classes, take those. It will look much more impressive to have an A in Physio or Biochem than an A in basic Biology. If you are worried about not doing very well in the other classes, however, retake the Bio to increase your AACOMAS GPA when applying. From what I've been told, getting a C in a class isn't a big deal at all as long as you do well in your other classes and show improvement.

Absolutely retake the Bio II class. I would hope that the second time around it would be much easier (the upper level courses will be much more difficult). Replacing a C with an A with boost your GPA considerably. I would still suggest taking Anatomy and Physiology also, but first retake the Bio.

retake the bio and make sure its with a diff prof... it helps to have a diff person teach it...

I just got a C in chemistry and I'm really quite stressed about it.....if I re-take the class at the same school, will they replace the original grade or will it still show up on my transcript?

Both the original grade and the new grade will show up on the transcript. If this weren't the case, ppl would just take courses as often as they chose until they got the grade/GPA that they desired.

that's what I figured......about how easy it would be to just retake all the bad grades! I was confused b/c someone above mentioned "replacing" a lower grade with a higher one.

The old grade still shows up on your transcript, visiblae for the schools to see, but AACOMAS calculates your GPA based on the latest grade. AACMAS(allopathic) will average your grades. For Allo schools a retake of a D to get an A will leave you with a C 2.0 Grade points. AACOMAS will take the A and not figure the F into the calculation at all. That said the school will still see your official transcript and may ask you about it.

DUDE
i think it would be better if you took the class/s u got a C in over. if you can do better in those harder classes it would look better though.

make progress everyday!
