Has anybody who has submitted their application already (and who has retaken classes at CC or another university) been verified with their retakes replacing their previous grades?

There seems to be some new information coming out from people at AACOMAS that the policy has changed- same units/descriptions/titles must match exactly as well as the course number and prefix name (ex: Bio 41 replaces Bio 41 not Bio 1B).

I've retaken a bunch of pre-reqs from undergrad at a CC and am trying to replace all of gen chem (for example Chem 11, 12, 13 with Chem 1A, 1B, 1C) and am now worried that even with same units and descriptions they will not replace.

Some reassurance would be great, thank you.

I was told credits do not have to be the same amymore.

From other threads it looks like you cannot split up a 4 credit combined lecture/lab into 3 credit lecture 1 credit lab; it must be exactly how it appears on your transcript.

That I understand. My concern is the entire replacement policy with courses from different universities (Chem 11 with Chem 1A, Physics 11 with Physics 2A, etc).

I do not want to sound like an expert but what I was told on the phone was that aacomas is on an "honor " system now and if you mark the class as repeated it will count regardless if the credits match. You should read the thread titled grade replacement in the pre osteo section.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

That was so last week. A lot has changed in the last few hours.

This is a nightmare. I'll be applying next year but have done retakes at other schools. oh my lord, I hope all you guys get your retakes through.

This year is the first year where the new system is out. It will take them some time to work the bugs out and fix whatever problems there are. We are all the guinea pigs this year. Same with the MCAT. The whole scoring system is different. Next year it should be much better

I really hope something good come out of this, but at the moment, it doesn't seem good for any of us. 🙁

Some people are also reporting their grades are being replaced from different institutions fine, so I believe it is a case by case basis.

True, which is interesting because the manager there told me today that there are "NO EXCEPTIONS" in order to keep things "fair".

This whole thing doesnt make any sense at all. Why would a class prefix affect grade replacement. Logic tells me this is just miscommunication on the part on accomas.

It almost seems like they're making grade replacement wildly impractical in an effort to phase it out completely.

If it is a miscommunication it is from AACOM to AACOMAS because this information was relayed to me by management at AACOMAS today.
