I called AACOMS and they were not help here is the situation I am doing some retakes to get my GPA above 3.0 and hopefully higher [almost there]. I am doing my post-baac work at a different school than my 1st so I need to retake a bunch of biz classes mostly and I have thos poly sci class I need to take but Im having trouble figuring out which to take

My old school I took: Poly Sci 001 (got c+) title American Politics so my new school Im torn between which to take:
Poly Sci 101 - gov't politics in the modern world or
Poly Sci 205 - American Nat'l Govt

I ask my schhol they were not help. I called a few DO schools they said check w/ my undergrad institution so Im getting the run around. Should I just do a matching course # or ry to match the title.

I am having this situation come up with some other retakes I want to take where my old school classified them as 101 types and my new school classifies the 101 as a different topic. so Im totally confused. Hope I didnt confuse everyone. thanks all......

I wouldn't match the numbers, I would match the course descriptions as close as possible if you want to try to retake those classes for higher grades. Every school has its own number system so it would be very foolish to take a class solely because the number was the same. I know that I took a physics class at another university and when I wanted that class to take the place of a class at my primary school I was required to send the class description so that we could see exactly what class, if any, the equivalent would be.

If you decide to do this, I would then give a call to the application service and tell them that you retook a course at university B to replace the equivalent course at university A. If they are again unhelpful, I would call the poly sci department at university A and tell them that you retook class XXX at university B and would like to transfer the credits over. They will probably require you to send the course description and transcipt from university B over to them. If they accept the course, it should be labeled similarly on your final transcript and the application service should understand what you did. I would call before you take the class though to make sure that its at all feasable.

that makes pretty good sense. im going to ignore matching the numbers, i think the closest match would probably be the american nat'l gov't [205] to my 101 class which was american politics. its tough b/c univ a [old school] tells me to contact b [new school] and vice-versa, while aacoms said to contact the school. for other retakes [mostly high level biz classes] have i think im going to just try to match the course description as close as possible. thanks
