retake while on waitlist?

Soooo I interviewed at a school, then the next day the called me & told me to retake the mcat in May & they would hold off on voting on me until they get that new score. The next week, I received a WL email. Has anyone ever heard of schools asking applicants to do this?

My impression is that they really want you, but the MCAT score is the only thing holding them back. Was this your state school?
