Retaking a Class (HS to College)

I took a math course at a 4 year institution during my senior year of high school, but did not do very well in the class. I decided to retake it during my first year in college (different institution), where I got an A. Does AMCAS include the first grade in the GPA they calculate? and will med schools view this negatively? Thanks!
