Retaking a class

NO!!! Retake that bad boy and get an A. They will only see the A and not the D. Honestly you have no choice but to retake it anyways. Im sure you would need, at the absolute least, a C when applying.

Def retake it and kill it! It will be MUCH easier your second time around 🙂

They will see the D along with the A. Only the A will count in the GPA calculation. But showing that you can do better than a D is important. So is acquiring more than a D worth of knowledge of organic chemistry.
 
Retaking that is great for a DO school. Under no circumstances should you forge forward with a D in Org Chem 1 , grade replacement or not.
This. This shouldn't even be a question. It would be safe to assume that you need to pass (with a C) an important class like O chem when applying to medical school. You would probably end up with a ton of rejections by not putting in the effort. This class is too important in the admissions process.
