how many retakes should be done? Will 3+ retakes be frowned upon by admission committee? Do retakes increase gpa? Also, does it look bad to retake at cc?

I've done poorly on lower divs -i got C's/C+ in gen bio and ochem 1&2. But I got B's in upper div course like genetics and biochem. If i continue to get B's in physio/anatomy, cell bio, immunology, etc should I still retake my lower div courses?

You should never plan to get B's if your goal is medical school. If you think that you're just a B student, figure out how to change that.

As far as retakes go, I'm pretty sure DO schools don't look down on retakes at all, but I could be wrong. I've never done any.

Anecdotal, but I retook 4 classes (three of which have a lab component) and am doing very well this cycle. Of the 7 schools I completed my application at I have heard back from 5. 4 interviews, 1 rejection. So yes, if you have a reasonable number of retakes (i.e not 20 retakes) I think you'll be fine.
