Retaking DAT in august affect timing of application

I know applying as soon as you can (in june/july) is the best thing to do and that's what i'm planning on doing. I already took my DAT but unhappy with my scores, if I retake it in august will they throw my application to the bottom of the pile? How does it work? What would you do? Any advice would be great. Thanks guys!

You can still apply without having your DAT scores. Although you might not be looked at without your scores, but it's better to have it as soon as you can and then have the schools just waiting for your DAT.
