alright first off, it's not the end of the world. you just need to relax.
ok, now let's look what we got. You said you got a 19/14/14. That means an AA of 19, total sciences of 14, and a pat of 14. You said you needed to retake the dat because of reading comprehension and pat? to get an AA of 19 you had to do well in either RC or QR to boost your average to a 19. the sciences is what killed you (unless you mixed up the AA and total sciences).
regardless, you seem to be confident in everything else so i will just assume your sciences are at a 19, which is fine. but reading comp and pat def need to be at least a 17.
depending on you grades and ECs you may still have a slim chance this year, but since dental school's gotten so competitive, you really need slightly bigger numbers. what i would do is not rush! it's pretty late in the cycle as of now, and right now you're looking at at least a december test date. even then if you did better, you're still cutting your odds. i would go ahead and buy achiever and/or topscore and just practice pat and rc sessions in your spare time. get used to what kind of questions are asked, pace yourself with time, and familiarize yourself with the PAT areas. practice does make perfect, but you need to put in the time. i would look around the april may months for a dat date, and when the time comes begin to go over your sciences as well. a 19 in sciences is pretty solid, but don't take it for granted. if you concentrate more on other areas thinking you'll be fine in sciences , your numbers will suffer. so just keep your chin up, and stay confident. finish out this cycle, who knows what may happen; and begin preparing for round two of the dat. it's frustrating i know, i had to do it too. just hang in there, and everything will work out
