I am attending UCSB. I will be graduating in June. I would have completed all of my core science classes when I graduate. The problem is that My extra curricular are really bad, so I was planning on taking a year off to study for the MCATs and work on my EC's. My GCHEM grades were B-B-C and i got C's in the lab. Math physics and bio grades were good A's and B's. So my question is should I retake most of my core science classes right after i graduate at the CC? It would be convenient because I was planning on studying these subjects for MCATs anyways. Im trying to get in to a D.O school...

Thanks

great i graduated from ucsb.

anyways, i would take at CC, since they have tendency to view lower if you repeat courses at CC after taking prereqs at 4 year university.
If you don't have C- on those, I wouldn't retake, and just take additional upper division bio/chem to raise GPA if any.
Yes people with CC are accepted but only if they started from CC and transferred to 4 year university and maintained their high gpa, but not the other way around.
CC is "suppose" to be easier, which I dont agree on but o well.

Dont retake them at a CC

A CC is easier then most 4-yr univs

If you got a D at a 4-yr, and retook to get a A at a CC - all you are showing them is you can handle associates degree level work, not bachelors, and certainly not medical/dental degree work

yay! just showing some gaucho love! i agree with what rob said about retaking at a cc. prob not such a good idea. i know lots of people do it to boost their gpa but the adcoms will def assume you are taking the easy way out.

why not just stay in sb and take the classes this summer? as i remember, summer in sb was the best time of the year! class in the morning and spend the afternoon at the beach! so chill! just make sure you manage your time wisely!

Good luck!
