I think it is important for people to know that you can improve your scores on the DAT. The first time I took it time was a major issue and I struggled, the seocnd time around I relaxed a little more. I think I went running almost every single day while I was studying, it really helps to calm the nerves.

1st time
PAT 20
RC 16
QR 15
Bio 16
GC 17
OC 19
TS 17
AA 17

2nd
PAT 20
RC 24
QR 17
Bio 18
GC 21
OC 19
TS 19
AA 20

What do you think? The second time around I only used the following resources: Kaplan (not very thorough), Topscore, Schaums Bio (highly recommended and only for $15 dollars or so), wikipedia, online test sites, SDN problem explanation, and old textbooks. Oh and anything by the Examkrackers is extremely useful, especially organic and general chemistry. As for the PAT, Reading, and Math - I took my chances.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY!!!!!!!! Keep moving forward!!!!

Congrats. It gives me hope.

What do you think made the difference between your first time and the retake?

For me I would say the biggest factor was time, I really worked hard to manage my time the second time around and move on when I didn't get an answer. I also used different study materials. AS previously mentioned, Schaums is very helpful for Bio and Examkracker is also helpful for GC and OC. Make flashcards of all the OC reactions and study those and I guarantee you will be well prepared. I also did a lot of online studying, I never bought orgoman or DAT acheiver, but I would go to the website and review some of there sample practice question, some of those even appeared on the test. Wikipedia is also very helpful, just be sure the information is accurate.

GOOD LUCK...though i doubt you'll need it!!!!

Wow your RC went up 8 points... what strategy did you use for the bad core vs. the good score?

hey, i wanted to ask you what did you do for your reading comp. this is the hardest section for me and because of this section i need to repeat DAT one more time. if you can let me know what work best for you that would be great. just to let you knowi i have trying SAT passages righ now but i really don't like them much. so besides SAT, what do you recommend?

thanks
