Does anybody here think its bad for personal privacy to post your specific DAT scores and GPA on here?

If you think about how easy would it be for someone in admissions of any D school to be able to match a DAT score to the name of an applicant. Especially if the poster has a AA22+ score because that would narrow down the number of possible people that much more. It would be akin to putting down your ID number on this forum.

I think it wouldn't be good because what if you at one point or another made a rather un-PC remark or some innocuous remark that doesn't sit well with the admissions people. They could already have a negative attitude towards you and look for faults in your app to give them a reason, any reason to reject you.

It may be just me being naive, but I doubt the adcoms will spend time lurking around the boards to find negative things?

I have spoke to several people who are on adcoms who have said they do come to SDN to see what people are saying about the school, but not to check on people. They have jobs responsibilities at their schools other than just working on the adcom which usual take up most of their time. They aren't going to waste their time trying to see if they can figure out if ou are one of the 1000 or so applicants they have.

that is also why i would never say anything on SDN that can possibly come back to haunt me

+1. I also wouldn't post non-PC things because I'd rather have a positive outlook and help when I can; if I can't, then I won't comment on the thread. No need to say hurtful things to anybody, especially because intonation isn't transferred through forums--you don't know who's going through what, so it's better to be pleasant and cordial.

Well that's why I just add 3 points to all my DAT scores and .5 to my GPA every time I mention them on here 😉

as long as one isnt a douchenozzle of the highest magnitude...there is no need to worry

At one of my interviews I asked someone if they are on SDN ...i got a haunted look on her face as if I am asking some inappropriate question ( ok fine I think it was inappropriate ...but she sounded too too naive not to know certain things about the school...I clearly knew she was acting uninformed of the site ) so after few seconds of pause she flat out lied and said NO and now I see her got accepted to that school and actually initiated face book page for class of 2017....point is why we are not so proud to be member of such a vast source of information and why we are so concern about our identity here ..nobody ever asked me about my user name on SDN (when i talk to them in person) all they know is I am checking this forum and sharing information I get from here. And if someone has too much time on their hand then go figure out my identity ..but i would suggest to spend that free time focusing on earning good grades or doing something productive.

It's a distinct possibility, and I'm not gonna lie--it'd probably be pretty darn easy for someone to figure out who I was if they had my application in front of them. I don't post anything I'd be ashamed for an adcom to see. 🙂
Plus, I totally wouldn't mind someone asking me to my face if I was on the site. I'd love to meet some of you guys!
