review books missing the basics?

a lot of the questions i get wrong on UW are protocol questions. there are so many different scenarios where you have to know the order of doing things.

for example, you don't do bronchoscopy unless you get a positive finding on xray/ct. (are there exceptions where you'd do a bronchoscopy before radiograph?)


now, flipping through my study books, I can't seem to find where the heck it discusses the proper order to do things.
I had to go through UW to learn this crap. 😡😡 that pisses me off.
 
In general, think about the indications and risks of a procedure or diagnostic test.

Bronching someone is invasive; if your goals are diagnostic, you'd go for the noninvasive option first.
