I was wondering where I can find information about whether schools will review my application without my LOEs submitted. I tried doing a search but only really old posts came up.

(And no, I don't have time to phone all the schools I'm interested in.)

Kind regards,
Contach

I dont know the answer to this exactly, but a good number of schools on AADSAS have changed to reviewing application when they do not have nearly all the LOE's they require. For instance both Oregon and Columbia require 3 sci profs, they only have 1 at the moment but both say they are in review.

Majority of the time, you will get a checklist or a letter saying that your application is missing some parts. For instance, UCONN sends out a checklist, Oregon sent a letter saying if you are missing any, and every school has their way of approaching this.

What I highly suggest is contacting the schools. I dont know why you cant do that. With where we are in the application process, it is not a smart move to submit your application, to only get a hold on it asking you for your LOE. It will only postpone review of your application, as many of the schools review your application when all materials are received.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys/gals.

I'll submit this weekend and wait for LOE's to come in, and then contact the schools over the next weeks about completing that checklist.

some schools care like temple said they are waiting for my committee letter but maryland said they dont look at it until after the interview anyhow. Just call and ask

Thanks for your input so far, another couple questions regarding this...

1. I have designated 3 people to write my reference letters, all of whom are in the process of writing at the moment. One is a dentist, another is a Science Prof, and the last is technically a Non-Science Prof. If I submit my application on AADSAS today and a week from now I decide to add another Science Prof, can I do this by simply sending a hard-copy of the letter to the Admissions Committee at each of the schools that I applied to? Will they accept this? (I am under the impression that I cannot designate another Evaluator after I have submitted.)

2. How awkward would it be if by December/January of this application cycle I have submitted a total of 5 LOEs to each school? I am still building relationships with Science Professors, who I am fairly certain by that time would be able to write me solid letters. Would this hurt my application in any way? Should I just wait out on submitting my application and get 3 good letters?

Thanks a ton.

You are sending a hard-copy, personally? I'm pretty sure this is unacceptable lol. It might be ok if the professor sends it him/herself to the schools, you'll want to ask more people about this. It might be the case that the letters should either be sent directly from AADSAS, or from a confidential credential file (my school uses one of these), but again, I'm not sure..

I asked UoP admissions this, since their status page says that they can hold 5 LORs. They told me that admissions would be annoyed if there were 5 letters. I think 4 letters is really safe, 3 from professors (at least 2 science, perhaps all three), and 1 from a dentist, I would bet that most people sent 4 letters. Some schools require specific LORs though (such as 3 sci, 2 from major, an employer, dentist, character reference, ect..) so make sure you send the right letters to the right schools.
