I'm sure it will fund a significant amount of charity care...

Oh. Wait.

this would be at the bottom of my list.
Preach. 100M gift to Mayo is great. 100M for proton expansion is about as low value as you can get.

Prostate is where the money's at. Nothing like catering to rich men who believe you saved their life.

I'm sure those Saudi Arabian royalty who give cash upfront to get proton therapy at Mayo will surely appreciate the perks that this $100M gift will afford them.
Probably going to upgrade the coffee makers on the VIP/no residents floor to Miele

They can give me $1m/year and use their global express and I will come over there and treat them on their own machines.

Fun story: I met a guy in in Spain once who was unloading a lambo from a truck. We talked for a while and it turned out his full-time job was to fly the saudis' exotic cars to whereever they went on vacation. They would literally put a bunch of lambos and mclarens in cargo 747s and fly them all over the world so that when they arrived on their yachts, their fleet of cars would be waiting for them. It was fascinating. This guy might have actually had the best job in the entire world.

Transporting cars likes this costs a couple hundred grand at a time, and I have no doubt they are being unloaded in Rochester. They literally spent more to fly a bunch of cars over that likely won't even be used than they spent on the actual proton treatment.

Hey I’ll ride that train to retirement if allowed. I mean what’s the alternative?

Mayo moved on from protons years ago... That's why the third facility in a US city is getting carbon ions

Slush fund probably about to do a lot better with OPEC+ cuts

Figured this was a good place to post this

Guess the boomers are holding on strong to their gigs!

The ones that made it through, sure. I'm guessing the ones that didn't and the ones that chose to retire are part of the reason we are seeing the strongest job market in awhile
