right treatment?

hi, my friend who is an oby-gyn prescribed me doxycycline for my chronic cervicitis..she is my colleague , i do not want to judge her..but i did not hear this antibiotic used for this diagnosis.It is not my area, so i am asking here, is this a new treatment regimen or what? thank you.😕

It's a standard treatment for nonpregnant patients. Be sure to take the doxy with a full glass of water...and not right before bed. The doxycycline capsules are apparently notorious for giving a mean case of esophagitis (once I looked it up after my symptoms started 🙁 ).
