my guess is that it was most likely for the social media links/picture he placed in another thread talking about another user (seeing how it was removed), but if not due to that I cannot specifically say why.. i have some ideas though

Thanks to whoever banned the guy and removed the links/social media content. You did a great thing 🙂

And as far as nysegop was concerned, he was no good to the threads and basically hating on my ball so hard theory!

Nothing is stopping him from looking though and reading. It will be a tremendous asset to him going forward.

Yeah I've always heard about him, what'd he do to get banned? Was he like an "SDN Superstar"?

He had 16,000 posts and he was a premed going into podiatry,

He was really funny, but his humor must've gone too far.... Lol

I believe when you get banned you cant open the page at all....
 
It must of been bad i suppose. But surprised there isn't a ban removal after a certain amount of time. Yeah he had over 1000+ posts. Not out of high school yet, good post count haha

While I never totally agreed with a lot of the things he's said, I did respect his drive and motivation. I wish him luck with whatever his future endeavors are.

yeah, MedPR was a funny guy, and even though he trolled he was a very helpful user.

I didn't see this coming..... What he did was really low and really rude. Did he deserve it? Yes. Is he a bad person? No, but he has ego issues and we'll let (hopefully) time and experience fix that.

He's going to a US MD school this year, no podiatry for him.

He got banned for derailing threads with hilarious off topic posts.

Do you think these college students feel like they are giving up something big by going into Podiatry? I mean a lot of people just switch from Pre-Podiatry or Pre-Dental to Pre-Medical like 4 months or so before MS1 starts...

I'm not sure that he was ever pre-pod, I think he just set his account like that as a joke.

I'm not sure what you mean as far as switching. Are you talking about SDN status, or actually career path? Considering it takes nearly a year to apply to med school you couldn't just decide to go pre med and then start MS1 four months later.

I wonder how many people really wanted to be pre-med but either didn't think they could hack it or didn't have the numbers, applied to both but just said they were pre-pod to hedge their bets, and then went with medicine if they got in.
I mean, if you get into both, there's really no earthly reason to go into podiatry. If you're really madly in love with the foot, you can become a foot and ankle surgeon as an MD. Granted it takes a lot more time, but you're a lot better rounded, you make more money, and you get a lot more respect. Maybe it's just me because of what I ended up in, but still, I can't imagine going the pod route if you get into med school.

Um... I think it's normal to want to specialize early rather than learn a crap load of not-very-useful facts which somehow makes you "a lot better rounded."

The "you get a lot more respect" part got my eyes rollin' 🙄

I know someone who was already accepted to med school and switched to pre-dental that same year.

If I would be madly in love with the foot, I would choose podiatry. The respect is earned, the money come along with the respect and patients, and you become specialized in the area of the foot, ankle and lower extremity.

I feel that some transparency in regards to the Administrative actions against user accounts is warranted.

With the exception of spammers, no one gets put on account hold or banned from this website for a single action. Our guidelines for taking action against an account are very detailed and stipulate a pattern of violation of the terms of service before significant action is taken.

We value our users and hope it is understood that these actions are not taken lightly. Thus users should refrain from assuming that a few sarcastic posts or off-topic posts are the reason why most users are removed from the site. Nothing could be further from the truth. Because of a nondisclosure agreement is against our policy to specifically discuss actions against users but suffice it to say that it takes a lot to actually get banned or be put on post hold.
