Okay, so I have a month until M2 starts and I figure I may as well start researching how to approach step 1.

SO my first question is what to get. UFAP seems to be universal, so I will get those. My only question is should I get the 1 year subscription to U-World or the 180 day subscription?

There also seems to be some Kaplan study material, usmle-rx, Najeeb lectures, etc. Are all these necessary? Im doing my budgeting for next school year and I'm wondering how much I should budget for study material.

My plan for next year ( I have no idea what I am doing), is to study for M2 in house classes musculoskeletal, renal, cardio, pulmonary, repro, endo, gastro, hem/onc, and look a FA, uworld, pathoma, sketchy sections related to the exams. We did neuro first year so i'll have to study that again. At some point I'll have to take a diagnostic, I'm thinking I can take that around the end of April. During the 2 months I have of for dedicated study time, I can go through everything twice more while taking practice test. Like I said tho, I have no Idea what I am doing.

The vast majority of students don't start FA or UWorld until a few months before their study date and end up doing just fine. If you focus on your Ms2 courses and follow along in the relevant sections of pathoma throughout the year, you'll be in great shape.

Read the experiences thread. There's more info in there on this topic than you could read in a week.

UFAP is the best place to start. Use pathoma and maybe FA along side your coursework throughout the year. When you begin your dedicated study period, I recommend taking a diagnostic test to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. This way you can invest in using supplementary resources that will improve your score. Do the same concerning UWorld, strengthen your weak areas.
