Risky including being in Support Group for personal statement ?

I am currently writing my personal statement a bit early since writing is not one of my strengths, and wanted to mention joining a multi-racial support group during college since it interested me because I am bi-racial . I was not sure if this would be a red flag or risky for people reading my statement, and just wanted to know other opinions about this. I would include it to be more about creating a safe atmosphere/space where patients will not feel judged and dealing with diversity.
