I'm starting MS2 soon and wanted to do whatever I can to keep things boards-relevant, so I'm currently gathering my resources. Here is my plan:

-Use FA as a guide to keep HY topics in mind
-Robbin's basic path along with my courses
-Goljan RR along with courses (I've heard that the only real way to get use out of this book is to start it early)

-People also recommend having a source of questions throughout MS2, so I'm debating between Robbins Review qbook or Kaplan Qbank (wanted to save UW for dedicated study time). I was leaning toward Robbins because I hear it's a good learning tool, has great questions, and might be relevant since I'll be following along with Robbins basic path anyway. But if it's not boards-relevant then it might not be worth the time. I'm Leaning away from Kaplan mainly because I don't want to pay for a full year's subscription, especially since this is an ambitious plan as it is and there's no guarantee I won't get lazy in 2 mos and ditch it altogether. But lots of people here seem to love it and many have used it during MS2. What do you recommend for me? Is Robbins a good choice?

Thank you

I loved Robbins. It took a fair bit of time to go through it but it is definitely worthwhile. I didn't use Kaplan so I can't comment on that. I also suggest Webpath. Its questions aren't too bad.
I'm referring to the question book by the way. I never touched any Robbins textbook. Screw that.

I think Robbins isn't necessary to do well in class or on Step 1. It is great as a reference. You should be good to go with RR, goljan audio, and webpath. I actually read Robbins 3x for chapters 1-7, spent a lot of time doing so, and a few months down the line, I only remember stuff from RR, not Robbins. If you really want to read Robbins, you should read the first two chapters as these two chapters pretty much set the stage for all of systemic pathology.

Thanks for the response. What's the deal with everyone saying to read chapters 1-7? i have the 8th edition and chaps 4-7 are hemodynamic disorders, immune system diseases, neoplasia, and genetic/peds diseases. They seem kind of specific Chaps 1-3 are all about general pathology/inflammation, which seem more like "overview" type subjects. This is what people recommend?
