Some say this is NOT reflective of Step I Q's

overboard on detail ? or just right on target to what is needed?

best,
Danny

I think this book is excellent preparation for the Step I. I loved it because it tested the same TYPES of questions that were on the Step I. There are very few of the "what is the diagnosis" questions; instead, most are of the "two-step" type.

I know a new edition of big robbins is coming out...is there a new version of the question book also? Do you all know? Thanks!

The new version of Robbins Review for Path is coming out in Nov of this year. It is listed on the publisher's website.

Thanks SolidGold,
That kinda sux because our class starts in August...I guess I'm going to have to use the older edition, huh?

Does anyone know if the question book will change significantly, or if it's just the same questions with a shiny new cover? I ask because a friend of mine gave me his copy of Robbins Review and I don't want to buy another unless necessary.

I doubt that there would be any new questions. Probably the book will be updated so that you can cross-reference the answers in the newest versions of big & baby Robbins. If the questions are completely new (which I doubt), that would be GREAT, because then you'd have 1,100+ MORE top-notch Pathology questions to go through.

I already have the current edition that's out that I bought from an upperclassman for cheap. Unless there is a significant change I'm sticking with this one because the new one will be around $40.

i agree with big frank. While i currently havent gotten my score back, so i cant say if my opinion carries as much weight (j/k 😉 ) i thought the review book was excellent both for path as a course and path as a subject on Step 1.

The questions aren't exactly like the step i, but it will certainly make some connections and make your overall understanding of the concepts more solid. I highly recommend it. I would do the questions as you go thru the year, if that is a option still for you.
