Hey,
I applied for the AEGD program at Rochester. I'm getting an interview date for 31st Oct. Can someone tell me what to expect, how to prepare, and what its like. I live in Dallas. So, its going to cost me $500 to get there. I want it to be worth it. Please let me know...

I also applying for same AEGD program
could u plz tell me your Score and work experience?

Even I am going for the interview on October 16th from dallas. I was curious where do I stand and is the program worth. Please reply.

After much research I believe the Rochester Eastman Dental Center, AEGD program for international trained dentists is the best in the country. This program is 2 years in length and allows dentists to sit for the NERB, WERBS and other clinical exams upon completion of the 2 years. However, one does not receive a DDS degree but a AEGD certificate which is ADA accrediated as a 2 year program. BUT the best thing about this program is that it is subsidized by the unversity ....which means no tution..so you save 250 000.

Now the stats for this program...which are a lot more competitive than advanced placement programs.

application fee: 100 USD
interviews for this year 2005: around 300
acceptances: 6 for June and 4 for dec 2006. So 10 total.
Requirements: Part 1 and Part 2 and experience. However, some students have been accepted without part 1 and 2 in the past, but had MA, Phd, or were specialists in there respected countries.

This is the only program in North America which is free and allows international students to obtain a licence after completion

University of Rochester AEGD program for International Students, is a program for foreign trained dentists. 25 months in duration, tons and tons of clinical experience. From the beginning of the program you will see about 12 patients a day. Practice anything you can treatment plan, including implants, veneers, prostho....anything. Very hard to get in...8 -10 students accepted yearly with a class of 5 entering in June and 4-5 in dec.
Most accepted students have a lot of experience for eg. Phd, specialities, some students have to accept the Masters program (not a speciality but a masters in Science, since this is a research univeristy) here and then get into AEGD 2 year program thus equaling 3 years. Good reference letters, good gpa and board scores are a must, even though there is no cut off. With over 400 internationals interviewing, it is not very easy to get in.

However, I encourage everyone to apply. You never know you might get in. Application fee is 100 dollars and no tution is required for this program (only program in north america like this and you get licenced when completed). So go for it..

nybody from Rochester school ..plzz guide us with ur stats n criteria for getting accepted there.
thanks
