Hi Everyone,
I have a quick question...I submitted my application in July and it has just been verifed by AMCAS. Does anyone know how much your application can be affected by delays due to AMCAS's errors, especially for schools with rolling admission? I'm sure it can't help my application, but I'm wondering if anyone happens to have any idea.
Thanks.

Well, Nicholas, I don't even know where to begin answering your question. 😕 You might want to read through a lot of posts from the past several months to find out the myriad ways that AMCAS can delay/screw up/lose/confuse/mix up and just generally do a completely incompetent job at what we've paid them for. But, on the bright side, at least you're verified. 🙂 And, this is probably one of the better years in which to have submitted a little late. Most schools have rolling admissions, and since everyone had to go through AMCAS, I don't think the AMCAS screw-ups will impact you anymore than anyone else. What you need to do now is get busy on secondaries. You can find out which schools have on-line secondaries at Drakos's site. Most schools are not screening this year (see the recent thread about who is screening for that info), so you can go ahead and get started. To minimize your disadvantage in applying a tad late and being verified late due to AMCAS incompetence, speed is of the essence in finishing up your secondaries.

Welcome to SDN! And best of luck with your application. 😀

July isn't late!! You were way ahead of the game, even if this had been a regular year.

Hi SDN,

Thanks for your response. I actually have my secondaries in. But unfortunately, my application has not been reviewed at most of the schools because my AMCAS has not yet been transmitted.

Did you send them paper copies of your AMCAS app?

Hi SDN,
Yes, I sent paper copies to the schools which accept them. I also faxed MCAT scores. Some schools are looking at my application but most of them have not yet.
