Rosalind AP acceptances

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
just curious, but why would someone w/a 3.8GPA and 32 mcat need to do this program? wouldn't you be better off getting some more clinical/research experience? atleast you'd be making $ instead of blowing 50k...

about how many people are accepted and enrolled in the program each year? it sounds like they dont take much people

accepted...? i have no clue.
enrolled? something around 100 i think...

There have been around 100 people that enrolled in the previous years, but this year they may go for a slightly higher number (110 to maybe even 120).

Do you think that since RFU was taken of probation, that getting into the AP program and the med school will become more competitive next year?

hey the aproximate numbers they gave us last year were 400 applicants to the AP program, 200 people accepted, 100 people enrolled. Those numbers were obviously rounded off since last year's official enrollment number was 94.

They do have a waitlist and call people even after orientation begins (I know of two who didn't come until the last day of orientation last year) and i know of people who were taken off the waitlist up until then.

So yeah, the wait is crazy, just like med school! And it's not based on when you applied, I think it's really based on your credentials. Last year I dind't even postmark my app until June 1st, and got my acceptance two weeks later via e-mail. I didn't even know what AP was about until after I got accepted. I just applied b/c CMS sent me a flier and it was only $10.

Anyone heard from RFU lately? I think they were supposed to make some decisions today or some time soon.

i got an email today, but i already committed to going to drexel so ill be decling

i tried calling them around 4-4:30 but the lady Ms. Martinez did not answer!!! I didn't get any email either. anyone hear anythign??? any acceptances emailed/called out?

i feel like a maniac!

Hey gh,

Were they supposed to make decisions today or tomorrow. The email that I got last week just said that they will makes offers some time early this week. So, I'm guessing/hoping wednesday is still considered an ealry part of the week.

At any rate, I think tomorrow sounds about right b/c they might be still waiting for some people to make up their minds and their deadline wasn't until friday (15th)

anyone hear back from them yet? i tried calling them but no one seems to pick up.

This is the email I got from Mrs. Martinez today:

The admissions committee did make another round of acceptances yesterday and at this time our class is full. The admissions committee can only make more acceptances if vacancies become available. Acceptances can be made all the way until July 27th. If people do not show up for orientation, the admissions committee can still make acceptances that day. It is very hard to determine if more acceptances will be made, but we will notify you any way we can if you are offered a position.

Hope this helps!

Hey everyone,

I was hoping to get some input/feedback/advice on my situation. I was accepted into the BU masters program last month and was set on going there, but just today got an email saying that i was accepted to the RFUMS program. It's all so last minute though that im not sure what to do. Orientation is next week, most of the housing near the school is filled up, and i have not had a chance to fill out loans or anything for the chicago program. According to the website, most of the deadlines have already passed so how do they expect people to enroll so late in the process? Anybody have any idea if its at all realistic to go for Chicago when its all so last minute?? any insight at all would be helpful.

It's still realistic as long as you have some start up money. The billing office will wait until your loans to come in, as it is common that many people haven't even submitted their loan applications until orientation starts. A lot of people get accepted at the last minute, and come to orientation without a place to live (some rents a place at the extended stay hotels for a week). Last year, there were a handful of people who came w/out housing and found places to stay. Many people have signed leases and had not found roommates, and there is a housing session during orientation for people to meet up and find a place to live.

It's definitely not too late, it's a matter of whether you'll be able to endure the hassle of it all.

Hopefully this helps you make a decision! Good Luck!

About two weeks ago it wasn't that hard to find a place to live and several people here were looking for roommates. As for some of the other deadlines, they don't seem to be that strict. My health insurance can't be activated until the first because I need a letter of enrollment and I was told the RF won't give them out until either orientation or the first day of class (forgot which it was).

As for those of you either in or were in the program, anyone know which books are recommended? I went to the campus bookstore yesterday and was told to come back next week so I couldn't take a look through the books themselves.

Just wondering what physio and neuro books do the AP classes use?

My roommate just got off the waitlist at Howard and thus will be giving her spot up today. that frees up another spot! Many ppl are still on waitlists and some spots may open up...Don't give up hope!

Unfortunately, since my roommate is gone, I'm now in a desparate search for a replacement. If any of you need a place, mine is still open. I'm at the woodlands building 3506B(phase 2) 2b/2ba.
Good luck to all!
