How's the heat/weather at Ross? and mosquito problems? I hear the island isn't the most comfortable place to live.. Any input from current students at Ross or their graduates? Also, what would you say is the most important part of the Ross application? If your GPA isn't too great, can extracurriculars and such pull you through? Also, is it true that it's easier to get into the semesters starting in May or January?

Search my posts...I had a few long ones about living on the island. The weather is hot and humid. You will sweat even when it's raining. The only time I was ever cold was when we hiked up the tallest mtn...I had goosebumps! Mosquito bites weren't too much of a prob. for our family. Some people seemed to react to the bites though. All classrooms are air-conditioned as are most apartments. Running the AC is expensive though. We made it with 4 kids on the island. It's all perspective. Not easy not impossible.

Your interview, personal statement and life experience counts a great deal, but a 3.0+ and a 25+ MCAT makes you competitive.

MCAT can make up for the GPA. Also, life experience and clinical/medical experience helps a great deal.

Yes, the Jan and May terms are usually less competitive.

Yes a pulse is helpful . Husband had a 34 on MCAT and we were so nervous after the interview. Don't think we needed to be but we had no clue who they really accepted. We will be forever greatful for the chance though and intend on making the best of it.
