hey everyone. I just got accepted to Ross and am still a little nervous about going there. I was hoping someone could give me some advice about whether it is worth it to go now or if I should reapply, this time only to DO's. I feel like i would get in to a DO if i got apps in early enough this time but who knows, and if i didnt it would be a wasted year. Thanks for any help.

When did you interview at Ross and when did you get accepted?

Personally I would go with the sure thing, you are already in at Ross. Why run the risk of waisting a year?

As a Ross graduate in 2000 who obtained a residency at his first choice (Chapel Hill) and GI fellowship at MUSC in Charleston, SC I can tell you that Ross will open plenty of doors for you in most any specialty you want, if you are willing to work and get it. I wasn't the best student at Ross, but used the best things the school offered to open doors for me. It is what you make of it. Take the sure thing instead of spinning-your-wheels.

I agree with the other posters. I would take the sure thing and start medical school.

So its Ross now or possible DO later? I dunno man, this is no brainer here in the caribbean forum. You'll probably get a ton of different answers in the pre-osteopathic forum.

Normally, I would recommend that a person reapply first to US allopathic or DO schools before even considering Caribbean. But since you already have an acceptance to a Caribbean school, I would say go ahead and take it. Why risk losing a spot if you don't even know that you will receive admission to a DO school upon reapplying? The good news is that you've been accepted to a long-established Caribbean school, which means you'll have an easier time matching into a residency than say if you'd been accepted to Spartan or AUA.
