This question is probably better for the Veterinary forum, but I kinda feel like I am cheating on "my peeps" if I don't ask it here first 😀. A vet at work has been incredibly generous to me since my acceptance to Ross (she brings me things she thinks I might need all the time). She is a Ross alumna and I really, really want to get her some sort of Ross shirt to thank her. I don't really want to wait until I get there but I can't find anything on the website about how to buy something like this. Do any Ross folks know?

Hi Vegan Chick!

You know, I tried to look around for Ross apparel on their website before I got down here, too. The bookstore doesn't have a website, and I think it's because they don't have much in the way of Ross wear. There are a few T-shirts, and a couple colors of polo shirts. They also have mugs, car decals, bags, hats, shot glasses (LOL), and a few other random things. Most of the Ross apparel that students actually wear is sold as fundraisers by either a club or one of the semesters (each class raises money to pay for their 7th semester banquet before they leave the island).

I'd say your best bet would be to either call the NJ office and ask them if they might possibly have some apparel for sale, or wait until you get down here and look for something to send back. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! 😳

By the way, when do you start down here?

Rats. I was really hoping to find her something.

I am starting in September. I am really excited except for all the stuff I will need to do before going (ie, figure out what to do with house, car, stuff and furkids). I wish all that was done!

How are your applications going? When will you hear something?

My applications are going well, thanks! 🙂 I've done most of the application work, now I just have to get a few LOR's and wait until the end of the semester to send my transcripts. I won't hear anything until May or June, because they have to see first whether or not they have any openings (ie people that dropped out). I'm so anxious to hear back! It's like last year all over again. 🙄 But I'm trying to keep my mind off it by concentrating on studying, which I need to do anyway.

Are you transferring out? Do you not like it there? I have an interview on Feb 26 for May admission. Still don't know if I want to go there yet.

I am trying to transfer out, not because I don't like the school, but because I don't like living here. The school and the professors (for the most part) are great and most people love it here. I'm just a homebody and would prefer to be closer to home in an environment that I'm familiar with, ie the US. If you do well with adapting to very different cultures, you should be fine! 🙂

I know its not exactly what you're looking for, but when the Ross representative spoke at our school, she gave everybody who attended a stress-relief foam monkey wearing a lab coat and stethoscope that had the ross logo on it. Its not as cool as a shirt, but if you can't find a shirt, you could probably contact your rep and get a monkey.

You'd love it there if you don't sing in the shower... 😀

Haha... exactly! I miss singing in the shower. 🙁 Oh, and McDonald's. And lots of other things.

Good luck with everything pinkpanther! I totally understand.....I killed a centipede in my apt yesterday morning that was the size of a jeep and I thought to myself, at that moment, that I had to get the hell off this island!!!!!
