Hi every one,
I will be doing my prelim year from July 1st.
Which rotations will help me during my neuro residency?
I heard about ICU, cardio, ophthal and raido will help.
Any suggestions?

Tx

The ones you mentioned are pretty high yield. Also think about ortho (lots of referrals for back pain!), rehab, neurosurgery, and psych (all neuro patients are also psych patients until proven otherwise. 😉 )

Also consider ID, Endocrinology, & Rheumatology since you'll so many diseases from those areas-infections, neuropathies, & vasculitis....Although I would say pick something that is interesting to you and which you'd have 'fun' doing for that month...Another alternative is to pick a laid back elective, since the rest of the year you'll be busy...something like Rads.

I asked for (in order):
Rads
Endo
Rheum
Palliative
Psych
Neuro

They wanted a #1-6 in order of preference, don't know what I got yet. They recommended endo, palliative, rads, psych and neuro for neuro prelims.
