i tend to have a lot of trouble with math, mostly on deciding on how much i can round a number too? I am fine with the sci fi notation

how do you guys do it?

ie if its 6.99 then yea round to 7 but what if its 6.74? do you still round to 7 or what?
what about 2.312 round to 2?

do you guys round to the nearest half or quarter? how much is too much

thanks all

I will round that much, depending on the math and the answer choices though.

If your answer choices are very close then your math obviously needs to be a little more exact.

Also if your rounding one number up, then try to round the other number down. Or atleast keep track of the direction your rounding so you know you should be looking for an answer over/under that.

thanks!

i do get confused after a while after rounding so many numbers how much over and under my answer will be...some of these Kaplan calculations are a bit crazy

Decimals I usually round till i get the nearest integer. If its a really large number for example 278 I would round it to 300 and change it into this form 3X10^2 so its easier to work with.

But looking at the answer choices can help dictate how you should round. Practice makes perfect

Just round to the nearest number you feel comfortable with. For example if you have like 263 round to 250 but keep in mind that you made a deduction, log these deductions or increases in your mind and make a good guess when you get to your final answer. Works pretty well for me on BR

If you keep in mind that you either made deductions or additions through the rounding process, you should be ok. Also NEVER do math in your head (unless it's painfully simple). This makes it easier to keep track of things as well.
