Does anyone know how floater Rphs are rated? (The 3 letter company) I was transferred to the district in Dec 2018 and was given a NI...... I am so depressed; how crappy jobs they think I am doing to give me NI?! I float around so I got the worse shifts, majority of them are night shifts with 4 or 5 hours a day; I finish things and try to not leave anything behind. Of course, there are things that we can't do at night so I have to leave them to the morning shift Rph. The most important of all is that I overlap with other Rph only for an hr or so when there is any overlapping.

Then, what is this NI based on? Any input is appreciated!

You're going to have to ask your DM.

If you want to keep your job I would just go full supplication.

1. Sir, what recommendations do you have in order for me to improve my performance?
2. Sir, is there a pharmacist leader that I could be assigned to work with for a shift in order to observe their performance and implement their workflow into my own practice.
3. Sir, I want you to know that I fully intend to improve my performance in order to better care for our patients which in turn benefits our company.

Sounds like you need some help. If you want to be successful as a floater you will adapt around the staff at each store and be prepared to do more work than other staff including the techs. If you can keep the belt clear that will make everyone happy. If people like your personality than you will be ok. At Walgreens if you got two consecutive needs improvements, you will automatically be put on a pip.

Yeah, I adapt like you and others are suggesting. In some stores, I am virtually doing all stations; in others, I do drop off, fill and vertification. I don't leave things behind for next shift and doing good with techs. I really don't know where this NI coming from. I have to ask my DM about this but I am afraid I might get an official statement.
 
when i had ME, my bonus was $1,500. when i had NI, my bonus is the same. and i get a raise like everyone else. so i don't think it affects your compensation or bonus etc. and ten years of NI and nothing but NI? you're still with the same deteriorating company. its stock got reduced by 50%. and every january each year you have less and less technicians working, even though the pharmacy is the only thing making profit. front stores sales decline. Omnicare is a bust. Target purchase is a wt-f investment or waste of operating expenses. Aetna purchase puts the company in huge debt that shows itself as unsustainable as the debt continually matures. and the pharmacy, the one and only profitable margin, can no longer afford to bear all the debts and declining revenue. Merlo is the one that needs improvement. how is this traitor even keeping his job with the class action lawsuit?

I think number 3 should read. “Sir, I want you to know that I fully intend to improve my performance in order to better care for our company which in turn benefits our company”

Sometimes it is not about raise; I am a floater, I don't think I will have any bonus anyways. This is just not right if they give me whatever they feel like to.

It is a joke in a field of pharmacy. Everyone gives an empathetic look when they know someone works for that company.
 
OP, this is how corporate America works. I'm sure you are doing a great job. However your review has nothing to do with your performance. Unfortunately you were hired right before the paycuts. You probably make $10/hr more than new grads. The chains are slowly replacing Rphs making $60-70/hr with new grads who make $50/hr. A new floater like yourself is a much easier target than a lifer. If you complain, no one will care. If they do this to lifers first, there will be an uproar. They are meticulously planning the slow replacement plan. They're just going through the motions to protect themselves legally. Mr Merlo needs his millions, afterall.

That's very sad.... because of those chain pharmacies, our license does not worthy a dime now.

Can't say we didn't see it coming. Just have to milk it for all it's worth then move on.
 
The chain I worked for based raises on supposed reviews from the pharmacy manager. But even if they wrote a glowing review, store management intervened and made them down grade it to limit the raise, since giving a higher raise meant less $$$ in their own pockets come bonus time. My pharmacy manager would apologize to me every year for what I got vs what she originally wrote. You could have been the best pharmacist ever minted and still get a mediocre review. After a while, you just learn to not take that corporate horsesh*t remotely seriously....it's all a game.

After a while, you just learn to not take that corporate horsesh*t remotely seriously....it's all a game.

I feel so sorry for all of us....
 
In pharmacy I've come to realize there is never any incentive to do a "good job". Quiet mediocrity is the gold standard. The best you'll do if you don't wind up killing anyone (or yourself out of pure frustration) is to keep your job, which is often a pretty sh*tty one at that. What a reward! I've worked with co-workers who were totally incompetent, and if they played the game and kissed the right *sses then they'd do just as well if not better than those who actually did a good job. Lots of those people play the game so well they go on to become DMs, propogating the mediocrity to those beneath them like an infection. You grow up and are told that if you try hard you'll succeed. Fed that **** from birth like mother's milk. But those rules don't apply to retail pharmacy. It's all about playing the corporate game and compromising your standards to the lowest common denominator. If you can tolerate that simple fact, then pharmacy is the career for you.

Too late, after 4 yrs of pharmacy school... I am stuck in retail
