two equations for this, 1-RR, and the other one is ARR/Control rate.
how are they synonymous?
 
QID 1175 UW, the way they arranged the table, shouldnt it be 10/25 as in a/b and 990/975 as in c/d. I know its not according to the quesiton, but the disease goes on the column and Risk factor/intervention goes on row.

I think this one is if your a smoker, what is the risk factor for developing a disease. The RR was 5, so you do (5-1)/5 = 4/5 = 80%

I don't remember what the variables, where, but you take test negative cases, get a percentage, subtract the two and then divide by one. Not sure if that makes sense.
 
You should always check to see if the table given is in correct order and if not then you need to rearrange it to correctly apply the formula.
