What is the best degree to pursue to move from an RRT position to PA school consideration? I graduated at the top of my class in RT school, with a GPA close to 3.7.... I was considering a BS in RT, or one in Bio w/ focus on medical bio. Are there any better options? I also have over 1000 hrs of clinical exp, and would have a lot more by the time I'd be applying to PA school after the BS....Any opinions/options I can consider?

Thanks for your time!

The degree really doesn't matter. Get a bachelors in what you are interested in. It's the prereqs that count, along with experience and GPA. RT is excellent experience, BTW.

Alright, thanks alot! I figured I could most quickly get the BS in RT (16 months) and then hit the prereqs after that. My RT work should take care of all the clinical experience required (which will be in excess of 3,000 hrs by the time of application) and then I should only need to be concerned with the shadowing/GPA requirements going in...Thanks alot!

yeah major in what you can get a bachelors in the fastest since you've already been in school. and keep getting 3.7s! and do well in your prereqs and you should be a good applicant, you're already off to a good start.

Im chiming in a bit late, but this is exactly what I settled on. I had been pursuing a BS in Human Bio, but realized I could knock out my BSRC in a year then just focus on pre-reqs. Good luck to you!
