OK if they are the same as school wise. Does anyone know about living there? San Antonio vs Pheonix?

I have lived in SA all my life, but I have traveled a lot across the U.S. and internationally and not just Mexico. SA is 7th largest city, low cost of living, and is growing everyday. You can get to almost any place in town in 20 min., traffic isn't bad, in comparison to other cities. The weather is warm. This year and the past year have been odd, in that it has taken a while for summer to get here and hasn't reached its record high like past years several days in a row. But weather isn't all that bad depending where you are coming from. If you didn't have allergies, you get them. But back to school, the school is in the medical center, which is a nice side of town and not located near any area of danger like other schools. The east side clinic that was just built for the school is on the bad side of town but is right across the street from a community college, which I have taken about 5 to 7 courses at and feel very safe in, with cops all around (bikes/walking/car). Some people don't like SA b/c it lacks variety, which is true. But you will still find everything you need, just not the biggest variety in food, it is mostly mexican or american food, but we do have good japanese/italian/ and etc it just isn't all over town. We have great attractions, six flags,sea world,natural bridge caverns, riverwalk, not far are nice rivers and lakes and about 45 min away is the number one waterpark in the U.S. is Schlitterbahn.

Cons: food variety/ humidity/ bugs/ allergies

I also thought about NECO, as it was my first choice for a long time. But after I had a visit in San Antonio for interview, it really changed my mind. People seem so friendly, and weather is so like Mexico. It felt more exotic than where I am from. Boston is not close to where I live at all, but weather is just the same.

I am still confused and indecisive as this decision may change my life entirely....

lol i wouldn't describe it as exotic. But when I travel up north I feel exotic, but I am Mexican-american. And probably 10 out 10 people (more like 8 out of 10) are mexican-american here, so i guess if you are not around it all the time, it can feel exotic.


Weather: May to Sept: probably 80 to 115 (july and aug are the hottest)

Oct to Dec: 45 to 75
Jan to Feb: 32 to 60

During this time it can be sometimes unpredictable and be either what we consider cold or pretty warm b/c of the sun.

March to April: 50 to 80

It can be either very humid or very dry here. Very bright and strong sun. We get cold easily and streets shut down during any sign of ice, which may happen every other yr or 2 yrs during jan or feb. and all things close.

Ice only happens maybe one or twice every 2 yrs. And all highways close, most streets actually stay open but no one goes anywhere and just stays home. We don't know how to drive in ice, so everyone freaks out. And this will be like this for just one day. The sun will usually come out and melt it by the next day. And if it snows, people go crazy over the tiny amounts of sprinkle and start making mini snowmen.

Haha, thanks for the info. Yes, it sounds exotic. In fact, where I am from snows 2/3 of the year.
