As a child, I grew up on 11 acres, 6 or 7 minutes outside a city of 60,000 in Idaho. Would this be considered a rural upbringing? I never really considered this rural because I felt close to the city. However, people that were raised in LA or other large cities would probably consider this very rural. What do you think? RURAL or NOT?

How many minutes in the car from a place where you could buy a quart of milk? I've heard 40 minutes from one person who visited someone who was living in a "rural area." That's not an official designation; AMCAS will actually tag your county as rural with a (R) if it is on some official list. That's all I know; it is very rare that we see someone from a rural country but not a large proportion of Americans live in rural counties.

No.
