Hello! I got accepted to the program, and was wondering if it would be possible to work while taking classes?

Alum here - most definitely. I knew a lot of people in our program that worked while taking classes, since each semester was what you made of it (course wise)

Ah gotcha! I'm assuming classes will be in the morning, and students would work at night? Do you happen to know some good websites to start applying 🙂?

Congratulations! Did you receive an email regarding the next steps upon confirming admittance?
I did not get an email, I just checked the status page.

Hi guys! I just got accepted today and I have few questions about the program.
1. Do most students finish the program in a year? If not, is it possible to finish it in a year?
2. I believe that this program starts sometime in August and will finish next August. Does that mean that we have to apply to dental schools (since it opens in May/June) while we are still at school? If so, how do students prepare for DAT while at school?

Thank you in advance!

1. 1 year is tough because you're essentially loading up on 15 credits both semesters. I would think 1.5 years is pretty common/reasonable since you have more time to ace your courses (which is the name of the game going to a program like this. You essentially want to finish this program with a minimum gpa of 3.5)
2. Depending on how fast you want to complete the program (1 year vs 1.5 years), best bet would be to have the DAT done before starting the program (so you can dedicate all your energy on, again, acing your courses)

Hi! I was accepted earlier this month as well. Does anyone know whether this program plans to be mainly online or in person?

I just received an admissions email as well! Congrats guys! Does anyone know how this program compares to other pre-dental masters? I've been stressing over deciding between this program an the BU oral health science masters. I feel like they seem pretty much the same but it seems like this program has a bigger reputation. Thanks!

Hi, did you hear back from them? If so, how long did it take to get back to you? Thanks!

I received an acceptance email yesterday and just now saw it lol.

Does it make sense to do this program while applying to dental school? I see the automatic interview is only for after you complete 20 credits and the max from the fall would be 15. At that point is there any advantage to doing this program for applying this current cycle? Thanks!

Absolutely. I don't see any reason why you would wait to finish the program and then apply to dental schools. Applying to schools while maintaining solid grades in the program will help tell "your story."

Good luck

I just asked and they said it'll be both online and in-person for Fall 2021. I guess they are making some classes in-person and some online...

Would it be possible to not move there for 1 semester and just take all the onnline courses for a semester?

Don't know if anyone on this thread is still active - but for those of you accepted, would yall mind sharing your stats? Also was anyone accepted with the GRE?
Hello! I got in with a 3.1 ogpa and a 2.94 sgpa and a DAT score of 20AA, 21TS, 25 PAT. I'm not sure if someone got in with a GRE score, but I highly recommend taking the DAT first. I'm sure you can message Leslie at [email protected] to clarify if they accept GRE score.

can you use LOR's for dental school to apply to this program?

Has anyone started a group chat? or is there a facebook group?

Does anyone know the best neighborhoods to live in around the Newark area for affordable housing?

180 west market street is where most, if not all, grad students live. Great apartments with a lobby where you can buy snacks and drinks, study lounges, quiet study rooms. Its also right on campus so I would recommend living there if you want to live near the school.

How long was your guy's personal statement? Did it focus more on why you want to be a dentist or how this program would help you become a better candidate for dental school?

I didn’t have any response time issues. Are you contacting Ms. Leslie Lucy for your Newark application? I used the [email protected]. Also check the status on the portal. I saw updates on there before I received an acceptance email.

Do we need official DAT score and transcripts for the application to be complete? Also how to figure out when the application is complete? Thank you!

Or live in society hill for half the price, not have to deal with the no-guest policy, and not have to deal with college dorm living.

I'm not sure...I think you have to wait till July to see the official schedule.
I know that fall semester Dr. Blackwell said that there is a virtual option and they have recorded lectures as well if you rather review them on your own time.

So, if there are only 2 semesters (Fall and Spring) and we can only take up to 15 credits in the fall, then we have to take courses in the Spring and I'm assuming each of the courses are different lengths because how else could we finish 20 credits before the end of the Spring semester. Does that sound right?

Did anyone get an acceptance email before it changed on their application status?

Hey everybody! I am applying to this program, if you don't mind sharing what was everybody stats?
