First I love learning from all of you. I work in the billing/accounting department of a non-profit Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Abuse facility. We have a couple psychiatric providers (PA and CNP), and we are changing up productivity to RVUs to have it be more meaningful. 1) What is a normal average target range for RVUs for a psychiatric provider in our setting? 2) What are average RVU targets as well for mental health clinical staff and for substance abuse clinical staff? I am new to the RVUs in our setting and can't seem to find average targets. tia

You can look this up based on CPT codes. However this data is for physicians and I believe that mid-level "providers" are reimbursed at 80%. More importantly, you need to know what the local geographic compensation is in terms of $/wRVU.
