RWJ and AECOM

Dont know about AE, but I'm over 7 weeks on RWJ and still nothing. However, RWJ will tell you the exact date you will be reviewed further increasing your level of tension on said day. Apparently, mine was today.

That's interesting hypersting...

I interviewed at RWJ very recently and they told us that we should expect to hear in 4-6 weeks (some folks earlier, some folks later), but it's all dependent on the adcom. However, the admissions officer there was very helpful and said that she would with no problem let you know where your application was in the process.

Can I safely assume that you've spoken with her and she let you know the dealie-o hyper? BCQueen, just call her and she should be able to tell you something.

I interviewed mid-Dec at RWJ, so I guess those 2 holiday weeks shouldn't really count. In any case, I called about 2 weeks ago and was told I would be reviewed this week. (Aside: Its so nice that you can get a straight answer from admissions offices) In any case, no phone call, so I guess didn't pass the mustard. I'll call on Monday to see whats up.

can you guys please let us know as soon as you get your phone call from RWJMS so that the res tof us know when to expect a call, that is, if we get one.

I had my interview at RWJMS the first week of january. They told us to expect an answer in 4-6 weeks. I called the admissions office and they said they were making decisions the first thursday of every month, which means Feb. 5. I know that the dean likes to call students to inform them of their acceptance, but I don't know when they will call.

I have other interviews that I would love not to go to if I heard a positive answer from RWJ.

So anyway, please let us know as soon as you hear from Robert Wood.

Thanks.

Hi, I also interviewed at RWJMS the first week of January. I did not know that they meet only once a month. Does that mean that if I did not hear anything I would have to wait until the first week of March to find out? Also, does everyone who is accepted get a phone call on the same night that they make decisions (i.e. Thursday night)? Does no phone call mean waitlisted, rejected, or wait until next month? Sorry for so many questions. I'm real nervous about RWJMS.

I think but am in no way certain that all of us who interviewed mid December through first week in January were considered this past Thursday. I have no idea how the calling process works. I know that they are not required to call us if we are accepted, but the assistant dean likes to call the students to congratulate them personally. I have no idea if they call everyone on the same day, or they go down a list alphabetically, or if it is random. I don't think they would call on thursday night because no one in the admissions office would stay there until all hours of the night just to call us.

It seems like no one has received a call yet so I would say that so far we are all safe. Again, if anyone has received a call, please post.

Dr. Terregino told us that the adcom meets every other Thursday, not once a month. 😕 They told me the earliest I would hear from them would be the Thursday four weeks after my interview. She also said she personally calls the accepted students on Thursday night after the meeting is finished.

do you think Dr. Terregino can call all of those accepted in one night? Did anyone give you the impression that there are still spots left in the next class?

I know people who got into the newark school and got the call on a staurday afternoon or the following week.

So has anyone gotten a phone call this past Thursday night, Feb. 5?

I doubt RWJ accepts so many in one night that Dr. Terregino can't call them all. In fact, it's probably around 10 accepted and everyone else waitlisted or on hold. On another note, the call comes anytime. I got mine on a wednesday morning.

thanks pekq. I am freaking out awaiting a call from RWJ. I didn't get a call on thursday night so I am worried that I didn't get accepted. In fact I just got a call on my cell from an unavailable number and I was excited that was "THE CALL, but no one was there."

anyone else get a call not on a thursday night?

littledoc - you sound alot like me in waiting for the call. I was kinda bummed that I did not get the "call" on Thursday. But I was reviewed that day. I got this weird letter today saying I'm in the very competitive category and that I need to wait MORE to find out if I'm on the waitlist or accepted. Arrrgh. At least, it came fast, sent Friday, got here today. At this point should I passively wait, or be more aggressive and write letters or something? At least our patience is being tested, a skill thats useful as a physician.

hypersting-what you are saying is true, but I can't take the waiting. do you know anyone that got the call already?

No, I don't, well not from the results of Thursday's meeting.

Instead of obsessing over it (which is HARD not to do, I know), just call on Monday. They are so nice and straight with you, they will tell you exactly where you stand. You may have not even been reviewed yet, and may have to wait for the next meeting (19th, I suppose). In any case, they will tell you when you call.

somebody has to know someone who got a phone call from this past thursday's meeting? I am just hoping that maybe dr. terregino for whatever reason hasn't made the calls yet.

Also, do any of you remember how many phone numbers they asked for on the secondary for rwj? I don't remember which numbers I gave them.

Thanks again for tolerating my nervosa.

I interviewed at Albert Einstein in mid November, got that email last month saying that I wasnt reviewed yet and that the next meeting was in late January. and just got my decision letter today, 2/7.

so if youre lucky you should here in about 2 months, or if youre like me, nearly 3 months after interviewing.

also, my interview at RWJ is next week..so does that mean I won't hear a decision till like April or something?

Hi spidermonkey,

I would say early to mid-March is when you should hear about RWJ, not April.

From what I recall, if you received that letter, your application is reevaluated two weeks later, which I assume is to allow those that were accepted Thursday to either accept/reject their offers. I know a few people who initially received that letter, but were subsequently accepted a few weeks later.. So I'd say just hang tight (easier said than done, I know), and hopefully things will work out in the coming weeks.

And littledoc2be, I believe RWJ only has your home phone number, as this was the number on which I was called. NJMS asked for your cell number on the secondary, and that's the number they use for "the call"

Thank you for your response abbeacon. The way I figure it, at least I'm not rejected right? Its just the wait is excruciating. You think I should write a I Love RWJ letter? It seems cheesy and desperate, but it seems to work from what I've been seeing around here.

i was told that my application would undergo a final review on Thursday (Feb. 5th) and sure enough i received a call at 5:30 pm from Dr. Terregino saying i was accepted. they make final decisions every other Thursday and you can call to ask the secretary the status of your application. She is the one that told me that mine would be reviewed in the Feb 5th batch. Good luck to all.

so all of this going crazy for nothing. I called the admissions office today b/c I htought I was being evaluated on thursday feb. 5 and I didn;t get any calls or any letters. The lady was very nice and very helpful and said that my file was under review at the next meeting which will be on Feb. 19. She said that I will have a decision by Feb. 20. So I guess next week I will be going crazy again.

Does anyone know if you are rejected or waitlisted do you get a letter right away also?

Yeah it seems to be that way, they send you something right after the meeting. There's 4 options apparently. Acceptance, Waitlist, Rejection, and Competitive category (review next time). I think if you are in state your chance of rejection are slim.

does anyone know if there still invited people to interview? Has anyone been
rejected pre-interview or do they just keep everyone "hanging" until April?
