Can we discuss this q?

Over time some elderly people may develop atherosclerosis of the vertebral arteries. When such an individual overextends his or her neck, transient brain stem ischemia can occur.

What other vessels, if occluded, would jeopardize blood supply to the vertebral arteries?

A. anterior intercostal arteries
B. anterior spinal artery
C. external carotid arteries
D. internal carotid arteries
E. subclavian arteries
