As a D.O. student applying for the M.D. match do I have to take the USMLE step II CS or is the D.O. clinical skills exam all I need? I would hate to have to do both so any info would be great, thanks.

I will defer to anyone who has concrete proof/knowledge on the matter, but I've been told over and over you don't need to to take USMLE step II at all since the step score they really want is step I and step II is more or less about the clinical exam portion more than anything else, and that exam portion is not viewed any differently between USMLE and COMLEX

A few competitive residencies may insist on completion of the USMLE Step 2 CS. You'd probably have to check with the programs you are applying to.
