Hey everyone,

I have an interview with NOVA Southeastern at the end of the month and I was wondering if any had any tips for how I could prepare. Also, if any of you interviewed there, do you remember the questions or types of questions they asked you? This is my first optometry interview so I'm really nervous. Any help you could give me would be great! Thanks!

Well well well...... What can I say about NOVA..... I think the school is really nice and new, weather's pretty nice. I interviewed there back in Feb and honestly I regreted going to the interview. I was asked all sorts of theoretical questions that were not answerable and the people who interviewed me were ODs and made me felt really stupid and uncomfortable. They asked me questions like "What is the oldest and the youngest patients I will fit contacts?" I was thinking, how the hell would I know. Anyways, I just want you to be prepared that your interview may not go as smoothly as you may think, but again I heard other people had very good experience. I only wished they would've asked me "why do you wanna become an optometrist" or something like that. I thought I totally bombed the interview. I was so nervous that I told the interviewers that I am sorry for being so nervous. Now thinking back, that was pretty funny, because they probably thought I was an idiot. Anyways, I somehow got into the school at the end. Maybe we can sit next to each other when you get in too.... 😍

Good for you! How do you like it so far because that is the only school I'm going to apply to because I can't move out of Florida.

Good luck with your interview. I am going to apply to Nova too. If you have time, please let me know how it goes. I'm really interested to hear.
Thanks

My interview at Nova was really laid back. They asked why I chose optometry and what kind of practice I saw myself in after graduation. I wasn't asked a single theoretical question. You will meet Fran at your interview and she would bend over backwards to do anything you need her to after you're accepted. You have nothing to be nervous about, trust me.
